What's Happening

My parents, sister and niece came for a visit on Thursday night and were planning on visiting until Sunday. Well, Friday night my sister had two attacks (which were intiailly assumed to be panic attacks) and went to the emergency room. She had gallstones and her pancreas levels were really high. She was admitted to the hospital and has been there since Friday night. Sunday afternoon she had her gallbladder removed and hopefully will come home (to our home) Tuesday!

John David and I have been helping out with Emerson, we have taken care of her the past 3 nights and will be on baby duty again tonight! It has been an educational experience to say the least! (I am calling it baby college...I mean how many couples get to actually take care of an infant before they have their own children?)

Here is the beautiful girl Saturday. We bought her this wonderful swaddling blanket at TJ Maxx because it is impossible (at least for us) to swaddle with a receiving blanket!

The bouncy seat works wonders!

Here she is this morning in her jammies after eating breakfast!

Please keep my sister in your prayers that she will be able to come home sometime Tuesday, for healing without complications and for patience as she waits in her hospital room unable to hold her sweet babe.

Oh my goodness! Prayers for your sister. I hope she heals quickly. I imagine she is so sad to be away from her baby girl. What a blessing that you and John David have been able to care for Emerson. That has to have been quite an educational experience.

Hello,

I really enjoy reading your blog. My sister went to the emergency room 3 weeks ago and had to have her gallbladder removed. The first few days were rough. She is doing much better now. She has had to make a few adjustments in her diet but is feeling better.

I will keep your family in my thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your sister. She and the baby are lucky to have you and your husband at this time. When I hear of a situation like this, I just always hope the baby's father is being supportive as well.

I will be praying for your sister! It must be very hard to have such a beautiful, new baby and have to be away from her! (Not to mention trying to worry about her own health!)

Swaddling with regular receiving blankets never worked for us either. My crafty aunt made us very large receiving blankets to use. We just kind of wrapped our kids like burritos!

Poor thing! Good thoughts are heading her way! At least Emerson has an Auntie and Uncle that could look out for her! Good luck to you all!
