Weekend/Monday

This weekend was lovely! We slept in Saturday morning (not too late) and it was great! We spent our Saturday just relaxing at home and enjoying spending time together. I did come up with a "to do" list for this week. I figure having a list where I can check off the things I finish will help to make me feel I have accomplished something that week! I will see how it goes this week!

Sunday I taught my second week of the Older Threes Sunday School! I had 5 kids again this week! I am really enjoying teaching these Pre-Schoolers. They are so much fun, so sweet and very attentive! We learned about being kind to each other this Sunday! After church we watched more Olympics!

This morning I woke up somewhat slowly (because we stayed up too late watching Olympics!) I had breakfast with John David and after he left for work I went for my morning walk. After my exercise I did laundry, meal planned for the week, dusted the house, organized his closet, and took a few pictures of items we are going to list on Craigslist/E-bay! So I feel I have had a productive day and hopefully will have a productive week!

Now, we are still watching the Olympics...it will be tough getting out of bed again in the morning!

Lots of Little Things

Today has been a day of getting "miscellaneous" things accomplished and I have done pretty good thus far! I started my morning washing sheets, ironing, and cleaning all 3 bathrooms...it takes much longer to scrub 3 toilets, 3 sinks, 2 tubs, and mop 3 bathroom floors than it does just one! I made a checklist of things to take camping this weekend and have all the camping gear together in the living room (behind the couch so the living room doesn't look too messy!)

I finally did something I have been meaning to do for awhile now, I organized my "Inspiration Book". Over the past year I have been collecting ideas from magazines and pictures of things I like so when we buy/build a house I will have a reference to look to for the things that I like! I just had all of the pages and pictures stuffed in a folder so I sat down and made dividers and labeled each of the categories and filed away the pictures and articles that go under each one!! My categories are: Kitchen, Bathroom, Dining Room, Master Bedroom, Guest Bedroom, Organization, Kids (yes kids, even though it will be about 5 more years I still have my ideas!), Outdoor Room, Garden, and Crafts & Cute Ideas. I think this will really help me and it is organized and takes up much less space than magazines do!

I also spent some time looking at my new Sunday School Curriculum. I will be teaching the Older 3's Sunday School Class beginning August 3rd! I am excited about this..I worked with Younger 3's at Bible School and I am really looking forward to this! 3-year-olds are great!

1st Week of School

This week the new semester of school began and it was a pretty great week. We are both pleased with all of our classes. John David is registered for 20 hours, however he only has to attend 2 classes, Agricultural Finance and Intro to Broadcasting. All of his other hours are internship or special topics. He definitely is going to have an easy semester.

I do not have such an easy semester since I am graduating a year early! I have 6 classes, Agricultural Finance, Interior Plantscaping, Agricultural Engineering, Intro to Theatre, Music Appreciation, and Senior Seminar. I will be busy but I am confident I can do well in each class. My Music Appreciation class is for Music Majors only however, Tech put me in that class and the professor is allowing me to remain in there since I need the class in order to stay on track to graduate. So it isn't necessarily going to be an easy "A" but that is okay!

This past week I was asked to teach the 11th and 12th grade girls Sunday School class at church. I met with the Youth Minister Wednesday night and this Sunday I am going to meet the girls and will probably become their teacher. I am really looking forward to being used by God to make a difference in the lives of these young ladies as well as letting him use this to draw me closer to him.

Thursday John David and I went to Nashville to the Grand Ole Opry House Studio A and watched the filming of the Crook and Chase Show which will be on RFD-TV. It was a great experience to be a member of a live studio audience. We also were able to see Garth Brooks, and he sang "More than a Memory," he is absolutely amazing! George Jones also was interviewed on the show and The Oak Ridge Boys were there and they sang two songs. It was a wonderful experience!

This week was busy but I managed to have some time to relax. One thing that helps me relax the most is cooking, I am able to go to the kitchen and forget everything but fixing a wonderful meal for my husband. I had two "firsts" this week. I baked my first loaf of homemade bread and it turned out pretty good. I also made some ham and cheese biscuits which were amazing, John David even enjoyed them and he usually doesn't like biscuits. I really enjoy trying new things especially things that are challenging, I have made a couple homemade pies (homemade pie crust and everything) in the past few months including a Chocolate Silk Pie and an Apple Pie with a streusel topping!
